Recognizing National Volunteer Week 2024
It’s National Volunteer Week and this year’s theme, Every Moment Matters, celebrates the contributions of every volunteer. Each moment spent volunteering contributes to the strength of a community. We see that in our Habitat for Humanity volunteers – as they partner with families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through housing.
We highlight our 12,000 Habitat for Humanity volunteers by acknowledging the unique contributions of a handful who bring the work of Habitat to life. Volunteers bring fresh insights, skills, energy and creativity to build sites, Habitat ReStores, events and administrative roles across our country.
Congratulations to each and every one of you for your dedication and commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s work across Canada. Happy National Volunteer Week!
Habitat Canada’s ReStore Distribution Centre team
Habitat for Humanity Canada
Six dedicated volunteers work at Habitat Canada’s ReStore Distribution Centre, representing over 100 years of Habitat experience. They each began their journey at the Brampton, Ontario Habitat ReStore before choosing to volunteer at the Distribution Centre. These amazing volunteers help process donations by testing, assembling and cleaning – to determine which items should be shipped across the country to various ReStores. They also clean and organize the warehouse – and always fill the warehouse with stories and laughter. Volunteers give a lot and also receive a lot, primarily in the form of friendship and feeling good about giving back. Thank you to Eva, Dick, John, Brian, Ralph and Bob!
