Our 2017 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project Impact Report is now available!

After more than two years of work and the support of thousands of people from hundreds of organizations, we’re very excited to say that the 2017 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project — held in Canada to celebrate our country’s 150th — was a huge success!

We’ve compiled this impact report to capture some of the highlights from this monumental event from a national perspective, including the hard work of nearly 50 local Habitat organizations across the country; the incredible generosity of our many partners and volunteers; the government officials who attended; and the powerful stories of the many families who became Habitat homeowners thanks to this project.

But there were two very special volunteers at the root of it all, who inspired every single person who participated — former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter. For one week in July, they travelled to Habitat build sites in Edmonton and Winnipeg to swing hammers alongside thousands of other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Together, President and Mrs. Carter helped raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity in Canada, and how we bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.
