Build. Transform. Inspire.
Habitat for Humanity Canada’s 2026–2028 Strategic Framework outlines our shared direction as a unified nationwide federation of local Habitat organizations, strengthening our collective impact, alignment, and innovation to help more families access safe, decent housing across Canada.
Grounded in purpose
We are entering a period of both challenge and opportunity.
The dream of homeownership, once within reach for so many, feels like it’s slipping away. Home prices have climbed more than 40% in the past five years, and nearly one in three Canadians now spend beyond their means just to keep a roof overhead.
These aren’t just statistics. They’re real stories: of families, seniors, and young people searching for stability, belonging, and hope.
The housing crisis continues to deepen in Canada and globally, and the path ahead is uncertain.
But we are ready. Grounded in purpose, united by mission, and driven by the belief that, together, we can make long-lasting change.
Our path forward
Our path forward is our shared roadmap to maintain stability, build momentum, and unlock growth. It identifies the most critical areas of Habitat for Humanity Canada’s work:
- How Habitat for Humanity Canada supports the national federation of local Habitats
- Where we align to drive the greatest impact
Our strategic priorities
As a member of Habitat for Humanity International, three global priorities guide our next three years in Canada.
| Build
Impact and excellence | Transform Trusted voice in housing solutions | Inspire
Engaged supporters | |
| Local Habitats’ focus | Improve local housing conditions through new construction, critical repairs, and innovation | Position Habitat across local, provincial and national housing ecosystems as a solution-provider in advancing affordable homeownership | Mobilize resources, reach, and relationships to drive change and grow our impact |
| Habitat for Humanity Canada’s focus | Support the capacity of local Habitats to meet shared performance standards | Shape national housing agendas, secure federal partnerships, support provincial and local advocacy, and amplify the collective voice of our national federation | Diversify and align philanthropic support regionally and nationally by deepening regional collaboration with local Habitats |
This framework is about clarity and focus — nailing down what matters most so we can act decisively over the next three years. At the heart of everything we do, we’re here for families, in Canada and around the world.
In their communities.
On the ground.
Building homes, building hope, and improving lives.
Together, we are Habitat for Humanity Canada. Together, we are building the path forward.
