Wine Rack raises over $1 million in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada

We’re very excited to announce that our generous long-time partner Wine Rack has raised over $1 million to help families across Canada build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.

The funds were raised through Wine Rack’s annual Cuve Close for a Cause campaign. During the campaign, which runs through the holiday season, Wine Rack donates $2 of the proceeds from each bottle of Jackson-Triggs Reserve Cuve Close sold, with the goal of raising $150,000 each year. The campaign typically exceeds that goal, and has generated more than $1 million in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada over the past five years.

To celebrate, a cheque presentation is being held at Wine Rack’s King and Jarvis location in Toronto, which was one of the top-three fundraising stores during their 2017 Cuve Close for a Cause campaign.

“Today, we’re celebrating a huge milestone in Wine Rack’s fundraising for Habitat Canada, but I also want to highlight the many hours their employees have spent on Habitat build sites to ensure more families have the safe, decent home they need to build better futures for themselves,” said Mark Rodgers, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada. “We’re truly grateful to have such an incredible and engaged partner like Wine Rack.”

Wine Rack currently operates 160 wine boutiques across Ontario, where they’ve also been very active on Habitat build sites. Since 2013, more than 400 employees have contributed over 3,000 volunteer hours on 29 build sites across the province. The organization has also started to support employees building with Habitat abroad. Two years ago, they began annually awarding two employees from the stores with the highest Cuve Close sales with a Habitat Global Village trip, sending employees to build in Chile in 2016 and Vancouver Island in 2017.
