Pre-budget submission to the federal government: Spurring economic activity through affordable housing
As our country begins recovering from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the federal government considers using infrastructure to spur long-term economic growth, we are focused on the role of affordable housing as a foundational aspect of short and long-term prosperity. Affordable housing spurs economic activity through infrastructure investments and provides a place to call home for Canadian families. As many have moved to a work-from-home situation, affordable housing takes on an even more important role in the recovery. With this in mind, Habitat for Humanity Canada has submitted recommendations to the Standing Committee on Finance for their pre-Budget consultations focused on how the federal government can build back better by contributing and encouraging investments in affordable housing in the next Budget.
