Statement on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Canada and Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario on anti-Muslim hate crime in London
We are appalled and devastated by the recent anti-Muslim hate crime that occurred in London earlier this week when a Muslim family was targeted in a horrific act of terror. Our hearts go out to the extended family, the community and most of all to the next of kin who survived.
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that every family deserves to have a safe and decent place to live and that extends to the communities and cities in which they reside. We stand in solidarity with the Muslim community, including the many Muslim families we partner with in London and across this country, and vehemently condemn anti-Muslim hate crimes and racism.
