Many hands build hope
April 19 – 25, 2026 marks National Volunteer Week and we’re celebrating the thousands of volunteers from across Canada and around the world who bring Habitat for Humanity’s mission to life. On build sites, in Habitat ReStores and in boardrooms, their passion and generosity make safe, affordable housing possible.
2026 is also being recognized globally as the International Year of the Volunteer, a reminder that volunteerism is more than an act of service — it is a catalyst for transformation. When individuals step forward, they spark possibility and inspire others to do the same. With nearly 16,000 volunteers supporting Habitat for Humanity across Canada alone, their impact is felt in every community we serve.
This National Volunteer Week, we’re proud to recognize just a few of the individuals whose time, talents and leadership help bring Habitat’s work to life each day.
