We bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership

This spring, help us celebrate new beginnings.
Future Habitat homeowner and single mother Gemina is looking forward to having a safe and affordable place to call home for her and her daughter, who is hearing impaired.
Together we can build the beyond to transform lives, but it takes a community. Affordable, accessible homeownership for all is possible.
What does home mean to you?
This year, over 13,000 students from grades 4, 5 and 6 students across Canada shared what home means to them.
There are three grand prize winners, one from each grade, who have won a $30,000 grant towards a local Habitat for Humanity build. Nine runners up have won a $10,000 grant towards their local Habitat. Each student entry also earned a $10 donation for their local Habitat.
2021 Annual Report
Collaboration continues to be the hallmark of our work at Habitat for Humanity Canada and in the 49 Canadian Habitat for Humanity organizations that make up our federation. We are proud of our accomplishments and our partners – and their willingness to collaborate – continue to be key to that success. There is much more to be done to solve the housing crisis but we know that together we can do so much.
Rent a BigSteelBox container and help build more Habitat homes
Are you moving or in need of storage this spring or summer? Then look no further than BigSteelBox and help support local Habitat for Humanity organizations at the same time. Rent a BigSteelBox container for your moving and storage needs before July 31, and BigSteelBox will donate $10 from each rental to one of five local Habitat for Humanity organizations, up to a total cash donation of $50,000.
Not only will you have a trusted name in storage, you’ll also be helping Habitat for Humanity build more homes for Canadians in need of safe and affordable housing.
Donations from BigSteelBox during this campaign will support five local Habitat for Humanity organizations including Habitat Halton-Mississauga Dufferin, Habitat Heartland Ontario, Habitat Hamilton, Habitat Greater Ottawa and Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island.

Beyond the Build
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone has the right to a safe and decent place to live, and that it benefits all of society when they do.
That’s why we are looking beyond the build, to how decent housing transforms futures, strengthens communities, and fosters resiliency and stability that can transcend generations.
We envision a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
We foster and build equity through affordable housing, by fully integrating diversity and inclusion into everything we do. Every individual involved with Habitat feels safe and encouraged to bring their whole selves to our mission and they know they are valued, heard and respected.
