Donate Your Empties and Help Build a Better Future

Habitat for Humanity Canada is once again partnering with The Beer Store for our annual bottle drive campaign in Ontario. When you return your empty beer, wine, and liquor containers to a participating store, you can choose to donate the refund to support local Habitat for Humanity organizations across the province.
How It Works:
For over 80 years, The Beer Store has been a leader in environmental stewardship through its deposit return system. During the campaign, you can donate the deposit value of your empties, usually 10–20 cents per container, right at the cash register. Your donation helps local Habitat organizations partner with families to access safe and affordable housing.

Curious about how a bottle drive operates?
When you purchase beverage containers, the deposits paid are refunded to customers upon return. Through the Ontario Deposit Return Program, The Beer Store accepts all beverage alcohol containers purchased in Ontario with a deposit. Containers exceeding 100ml carry a deposit value of 10 to 20 cents, which can be optionally donated during the bottle drive.
