Habitat Canada is proud to work with the following organizations who are lending their expertise and resources to help our organization and the 46 local Habitats across Canada maximize impact.
Strategic
Bank of America
Bank of America (BoA) is one of the world’s leading financial institutions, serving individuals, small- and middle-market businesses, large corporations, and governments with a full range of banking, investment management and other financial and risk management products and services. BoA has supported Habitat International for 35 years and began supporting Habitat Canada Build Days in 2016. In 2021, BoA became a strategic partner of Habitat Canada and Habitat Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA). Through a $1.5M low interest loan, BoA is helping Habitat Canada expand its Habitat ReStore gift-in-kind and liquidation purchased product programs, providing a significant boost to retail operations, which will result in increased revenue across the ReStore business. Habitat GTA has been provided with an $8.5M, 10-year loan, at a 1% rate of interest to consolidate and replace market rate commercial debt, resulting in significant savings of interest cost.
In addition to financial support, Bank of America employees have volunteered over 1,600 hours on Habitat build sites across the GTA.
CMHC
As Canada's authority on housing, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) contributes to the stability of the housing market and financial system, provides support for Canadians in housing need, and offers unbiased housing research and advice to all levels of Canadian government, consumers and the housing industry. CMHC's aim is that by 2030, everyone in Canada has a home they can afford, and that meets their needs. In 2019, CMHC and Habitat for Humanity Canada entered into a three-year, $32.4 million partnership under the National Housing Co-investment Fund (NHCF). This partnership is expected to create up to 414 new homes across the country.
In December 2020, CMHC announced that they would invest $20 million, to be matched by Habitat, for the creation of 200 new homeownership opportunities for Black Canadians over the next three years.

Through the EY Ripples program, EY Canada partnered with Habitat Canada to provide an intensive review of Habitat’s operations. The EY Canada Ripples team provided recommendations on how to increase capacity, brand awareness and competitiveness of Habitat ReStores, and how best to streamline and standardize federation operations to help reduce the administrative burden on local Habitats.
