Networking

Are you ready for some networking fun?

To encourage networking, we have incorporated some fun activities to get you talking and sharing!

Forum Dinners

Kick off conference with additional time with your forum group on Tuesday starting at 6p.m. Get to meet new people in similar roles, see old acquaintances and discuss issues you can relate to. Dinner locations will be communicated prior to the conference start date.

Please remember to register for the forum dinner of your choice.

Please note: Tuesday Forum Dinners are pay on your own, they are not included in any of the registration packages.

Wednesday Lunch – Reveal Your Superpower?

During Wednesday’s lunch we will be playing an ice breaker game to get to know each other better. Tables will be assigned, so make sure to check the Resources tab on the conference website for the seating chart. Each member of the group will announce their superpower and answer the following…
How are you using your superpower to drive success for yourself, your teams, the federation, and the families you serve?

* Hint: Your superpower = your talent + your passion + your actions

Let’s Get Social – Tips for Networking

“Networking is not collecting contacts. Networking is about planting relationships.” – anonymous

One of the greatest takeaways from any conference is the new relationships that are made through networking.

Sometimes networking can be hard, so here are a few tips and strategies that can be a gamechanger:

  • Be ready with some conversation starters. For example: What affiliate are you from? What sessions and or speakers are you looking forward to?
  • Come with your own agenda of what you want to take away. For example: Do you have an issue you could use help with?
  • Use your already established connections to introduce you to new ones.
  • Don’t sit with people you know. Move to new tables after lunch each day.
  • Stay on-site. Those after hour conversations can be very beneficial.
  • Pack your business cards and remember to give them out.
  • Look at nametags. Identify the folks you want to touch base with and be sure to greet them by name.
  • Remember the 3 Bs… Be yourself. Be confident. Be curious. You have so much to offer, and don’t forget we can all learn something new too.
