2021 International Women Build Week Powered by Lowe's Canada

Habitat for Humanity’s International Women Build Week is an annual event created by Habitat’s Women Build program in partnership with Lowe’s Companies. The 2021 international event is March 8-15, starting on International Women’s Day.

This year, we're doing things a little different. Our top priority is the health and safety of staff, volunteers, partners and the people we serve. That's why we will not be hosting in-person volunteer builds. Instead, Habitat Canada and participating local Habitats will be partnering with Lowe’s Canada to feature stories of the women whose lives and families have been impacted by homeownership - and reinforcing the importance of safe and affordable housing, especially in times like these. In an effort to help more women and families access safe, affordable housing, Lowe's Canada has generously donated grants to five local Habitats in support of International Women Build Week. To get involved virtually reach out to your local Habitat, or donate today!

Although we won't be able to get together on a build site this year, more than 300 Habitat locations in Canada, the U.S. and India are organizing ways to get involved virtually so you can support our mission to raise awareness on how having access to safe, affordable housing helps empower women to build strong economic futures for themselves, and their families.

Habitat Canada and Lowe's Canada

Lowe’s Canada and its Lowe’s, RONA and Reno-Depot banners have been partnering with various local Habitat affiliates since 2007. Through Lowe’s Canada Heroes campaign, International Women Build Week, and focused support in cash or in kind, Lowe’s Canada has raised over $3.9 million to support the housing efforts across the country and help families who partner with Habitat improve their living conditions.

Celebrate your mom this International Women's Day!

A mom plays many roles - teacher, nurse, chef, coach, friend - and by partnering with Habitat, she is also a homeowner, painter, construction worker and so much more!

Take a look at these wonderful art pieces created by the children of Habitat homeowners, celebrating their super-mom on a build site.
