National Student Build
The 2006 National Student Build took place in Winnipeg from May 6th to 13th.
|
|
|
Student-organized and
co-student sponsored, the National Student Build brought youth together from across Canada to make a difference in the life of a deserving family in need of affordable housing. |
|
Youth under 16 can help Habitat for Humanity!
Here are some ways to make a big difference:
-
Volunteer to do landscaping and painting trim for Habitat homes.
-
Organize a local penny drive at your school, church, or clubs.
-
Make up your own fundraiser (car wash, bake sale, charity formal) and offer the proceeds to your local affiliate.
-
Offer your service to your local affiliate office where ever they need help the most.
-
Collect old or unwanted materials that are still in good condition for the Habitat Restore to sell.
-
Volunteer at the Habitat Restore as a cashier, restocking shelves and organizing donated materials.
-
Construct mail boxes or tool sheds for families who will be moving into Habitat homes and present them with the items at the dedication service.
-
Offer your babysitting services to a homeowner while they are building their home.
-
Raise Awareness in your school, and community about the work of Habitat for Humanity.
Campus Chapters
What is a campus chapter? A campus chapter is a student-run group that:

helps build or renovate habitat homes with Habitat affiliates and homeowners
-
educates their local campus and community about Habitat for Humanity
-
raises funds for the work of Habitat
Habitat for Humanity Canada is currently not accepting applications for new campus chapters. If you are interested in supporting Habitat for Humanity, please contact your local affiliate.
