| Dear Friend of Habitat,
As it’s our last issue of 2009, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all your past support – whether volunteering on a build site, through donations, purchasing our partners’ products, or discussing the need for more affordable homes with those closest to you – thanks for continuing your support of helping break the cycle of poverty for families in need through affordable housing.
We wish you, and your family and friends, a peaceful and joyous holiday season – Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa.
Warmest Regards,
Habitat for Humanity Canada |

MCAP Launches Key to Hope Program
MCAP, a strong supporter of Habitat for many years, recently introduced a unique new program, called Key to Hope, in support of Habitat. The Canadian mortgage industry's annual national conference and expo took place recently in Toronto where MCAP introduced this new program, which provides an innovative way to provide professional mortgage brokers’ customers with an opportunity to support Habitat by adding a donation to each mortgage payment, to MCAP’s broker partners.

The Source: A Community-minded Company Helping to Build Homes and Hope
The Source, one of Canada’s top consumer electronics and accessories retailers, is pleased to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity Canada, to build homes and hope this holiday season. Earlier this year, The Source chose to expand their support of Habitat by raising enough money to sponsor the build of a Habitat home in Barrie, Ontario for a family in need. By investing locally and engaging their own employees on the build site, The Source demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the community.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation: Supporting Sustainable Homes and Communities
This year, The Home Depot Canada Foundation launched a unique granting program with Habitat to support "green" building projects across the country. As part of this program and their additional funding to our National Sustainable Building Fund, 24 local Habitat affiliates have received generous grants for their energy-efficient home projects. Team Depot volunteers from coast to coast have also participated on the build sites, swinging a hammer in support of Habitat. With over $930,000 in cash donations directed to 24 homes in total, and well over $3 million in product supporting builds across the country, The Home Depot has contributed approximately $5 million to the cause this year alone. Through their partnership, Habitat continues to build sustainable homes and communities for Canadian families in need.
