Jewellery With a Cause

The New Habitat Collection from Aura Collective

What’s the common thread between a house and a piece of jewellery? In Aura Collective’s exclusive ‘Habitat Collection’, it’s the cause.

Aura Collective, featuring the designs of artist Lisa Ridout, has recently launched two beautifully crafted pieces of jewellery in support of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Projects. The Habitat Collection makes more than just a fashion statement - those who purchase the striking sterling silver jewellery are taking a step towards addressing the affordable housing crisis in Canada. These unique pieces and Habitat homes are both handcrafted with a common purpose: supporting families in need of a safe, decent place to live.

Combining Beauty and Building
25 percent of each piece sold will go towards Habitat for Humanity Women Build Projects taking place across the country. The Habitat Women Build program is meant to empower women as leaders through homebuilding projects. The jewellery represents the essence of a Women Build: spirit, empowerment, solidarity, fun and pride.

“Whether you are changing someone’s world in a small but positive way, with a piece of jewellery, or in a larger way by putting a roof over their head, the result is the same. You have changed that person’s world for the better and that is a wonderful feeling.”
- Eric Andrade, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aura Collective

Handcrafted to Last a Lifetime

The high quality of every earring or bracelet in the Habitat Collection mirrors the attention to detail in each Habitat build project, producing a timeless and enduring end result in both cases. The heart of the collection is a pair of sterling silver ‘Aspire’ earrings complemented by a stunning ‘Achieve’ bracelet, each individually signed by artist Lisa Ridout, a leading Canadian fine craft jeweler and designer of the Habitat Collection.

For Aura Collective Founder and Chief Executive Officer Eric Andrade the partnership with Habitat made perfect sense. In his own words, Eric affirms that “there is nothing like the satisfaction of completing a project that is built entirely by hand. To say ‘we built this’ is an accomplishment like no other.”

The Aura Habitat Collection is now available for purchase online at www.auracollective.com/HFHC or by calling 1-888-318-AURA (2872).

The chain pattern of the ‘Achieve’ bracelet represents the interconnectedness of all the Habitat chapters, affiliates and participants, separated by region but connected in their common commitment to the cause. Sturdy yet flexible, it reflects both the strength and universality of the Habitat vision.

Similar to the bracelet, the ‘Aspire’ earrings are made with perfectly round silver rings, symbolizing wholeness, balance, harmony, renewal, connectedness and the complete cycle of life that Habitat helps fulfill for families in need.
